1. Who we are

The Gaming Owl (“TGO”, “we”, “our”) is a gaming companion platform that helps you track your game library, monitor deals, and manage your backlog. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle the information you provide to us when you use the TGO website and services.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly:

  • Account information: email address and display name when you create an account.
  • Platform connections: identifiers for gaming platforms you choose to link (Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, etc.). We do not store your platform passwords.
  • Library and preferences: games you add, status tags (Playing, Backlog, etc.), notification preferences, and watchlist entries.
  • Waitlist email: if you submit your email for early access, we store it solely to notify you when access opens.

We also collect limited technical data automatically:

  • Browser type, operating system, and referring URL.
  • Pages visited and features used (aggregated, not tracked per user).
  • IP address for security and rate-limiting purposes.

3. How we use your information

  • Provide, operate, and improve the TGO service.
  • Send you deal alerts and notifications you have opted into.
  • Respond to support requests and account inquiries.
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • Send product and feature announcements (you can opt out at any time).

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your library or preference data for advertising purposes.

4. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Waitlist emails are deleted within 30 days after the waitlist closes or upon request.

5. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at our contact page.

6. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and maintain session state. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work correctly.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify registered users via email and update the “last updated” date above. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
